Player Movement Policy

Vermilion Minor Ball Player Movement Policy

The provision that allows a Vermilion Minor ball player to “play up” is intended to recognize the rare circumstances where a player demonstrates exceptional ability, attitude, skill level and or size.  The player must be able to demonstrate a clear ability to play at a higher age group, as well as be considered a positive addition to the team.

Policy

  •     Requests for player movement will not be accepted from parents of the affected player.
  •     A player must first be registered with the team in his or her own age group.
  •     Requests for player movement can only be requested by the coaches of the applicable teams, and players may only move       up one age level.  The coach must be prepared to support his or her requests with reasons consistent with player and team     development.
  •     Players who unsuccessfully tryout for positions in their age group will not be permitted to tryout for teams in a higher age         group.
  •     There will be a minimum of two underage players on a team unless it is approved by the Executive.
  •     In circumstances where a minor ball team in a particular age group does not exist, then players will be permitted to tryout         for the next age group.
  •     I f it is decided that a player can move up, a player release form must be filled out and signed by the coaches of both             teams and forwarded to the president of the league.
